I created a family passport using photos from the different places my family and I have been throughout the years. I want to use the form of a passport in order to reflect the idea of traveling; family to me is where we are together, so illustrating my family together through the different places we have been provides a way to demonstrate how we go places together. I printed the images with the same dimensions as the pages of a passport. Each photo page has a digital stamp reflecting the place and time the photo was taken. I kept every page in chronological order of each event. Every stamp was created in photoshop and has contextual clues as to where they are representing. I did not use every trip or location we have been together since it would have a lot of overlap, instead, I chose photographs for the moments that I personally had the most memories of. The outer cover was made using a faux leather that I cut to fit and glued at the seam of the pages. Creating this passport allowed me to look back at the photos that would have been held only digitally and put it into a physical space that allowed for my family and I to remember these moments together as I showed them the final work. Overall, I am inspired as to how I could expand on the project in the future, creating new pages to add to the passport as we take more trips together.
